Fly Tying

Fly Tying sessions are for members only and are held at the clubrooms on the first Monday of most months. You should have a reasonable level of tying ability.  You can use club equipment and materials or bring your own. Fly Tying dates for 2021 are: 

2 August

At the August session we will be tying a Davie McPhail pattern, the Polish Nymph. There will also be a demonstration of tying the Rangitikei Red, a members invention. The session will also include a discussion on different types of indicators.

These sessions are open to members & non-members.

If you have always wanted to tie your own flies, but lack the knowledge or equipment, this is for you.

These introductory lessons, specifically targeted for beginners, will cover off the very basic techniques needed to successfully tie your own fishing flies.

All materials and equipment supplied for a gold coin donation.

Class numbers are strictly limited so individual tuition can be given.
